Steve,

What an awesome trip!!! Ive never been around someone as knowledgable about fishing than what we seen our charter trip to lake hartwell. From tying on hooks in 10 seconds to all of the different rigs and techniques that youve showed us, it was well worth it not even counting the 20 hybrid bass that we caught. Man, do those fish fight. Thanks again and we will definetly book another trip in the near future!

well i must say i didnt think we would have as much success as we did on my july 4th trip to beautiful lake jocassee. We absolutely crushed them and it was super fun to catch 16 beatiful brown and rainbow trout that we caught. I had an amazing time and the next time i come visit my brother, i will surely book another trip. What a great guide and super service. thanks again!!! Put our pics up so i can show em off to these boys in tennessee. LOL

Steve,
I swear you breathe water, and have scales or gills, or something, Ive never even seen so many fish! We had an excellent trip. My wife loved pulling in all those rainbows and browns. Like it or not, I think you've got her converted to my new fishing buddy. She especially loved the waterfall, and the 'sunset cruise'. Thanks for the amazing trip, please book us again for next spring.

Steve,
You're an outdoorsman.
If I hunt with you we're successful.
If I fish with you... We win a tournament!
You're the reason my 5 year old son caught a 4.41 brownie and several other large trout to win. This is a day he and I will never forget.
Thank you my friend. I look forward to fishing with you again soon.

Steve had me and my son on fish 5 minutes after we left the dock. He knows Hartwell as well as anyone. I fished Hartwell for 20 years, but Steve showed us how to catch Stripers and Hybrids consistently and his boat is roomy and comfortable. Steve always has a smile and will let you participate in the fishing as much as you want. You can't beat his service and his knowledge of the fishery.

Steve took me out by myself about 2 weeks ago and it took about an hour to find the fish, but we eventually caught fish in three different spots. I had two break off in tree tops that I could not even begin to slow down. I haven't had a tug that hard on my line since I caught 65 lb yellow fin tuna at the Georgetown hole off the coast of SC. We only kept 7 that swallowed the hook, and we released at least 15. Two of those were in the 18 lb range. I can't wait to go back.

I must say... I was much skeptical of "paying" for fishing but after 6 hrs on the water with capt steve im bumfuzzled. I just thought i knew how to fish. Wow, do you know a ton about fishing. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience, the cleaning of the fish, and the vast knowledge about fishing that i gained in a few hrs on the lake. I will be back for a return trip.
THANKS AGAIN!!

Steve has taken me out to fish on the Savannah chain many times. I am now a regular year around customer. Steve is always enthusiastic, professional, well prepared, and most of all, successful. You can't find a better guide for Hartwell, Russell, or Jocassee. GW

Wow! What a great time on Lake Jocassee. Capt. Steve is a fantastic guide. He works like a well oiled machine. It is amazing how quickly he had lines in the water fishing. He is very knowledgeable about where the fish are and how to catch them. And catch them we did! We caught several monsters out there on the Lake. Not only did we catch fish, but he showed us some beautiful waterfalls and other unique features of the lake. We brought our children and he was so amazing with them, they caught fish and had a great time too! We will definitely be back again!

Capt. Steve was great during all aspects of the trip, from planning, fishing and cleanup. We went out on the day after Thanksgiving, which was cold and windy. Steve took great care of us including sharing some extra clothes. We were catching fish within the first hour on the water, so everyone warmed up very quickly.

I hope to fish with Steve again. It was a great time.

I have fished with Captain Steve quite a few times the past few years. He is the consummate professional and a hell of a guy. Only one time did we not reach our quota of stripers and hybrids. Looking foward to our next trip in 10 days.

I have not fished with Steve in several years. We worked together at a lodge in Alaska. I consider myself better than fair on salmon and steelhead around my Oregon home. I have guided and fished with other guides several times over many years. The one thing that I know for sure is I have never, anywhere, for any fish seen a better fisherman than Steve. He is also in my opinion the most personable guide there is.

A fishing reel in it's most condensed definition, is a devise used for the deployment and retrieval of a fishing line, through the use of a spool mounted on an axle. Fishing reels can be used for several recreational activities, including angling, which is a method of fishing by means of a hook, which is attached to a fishing line, which is in turn attached to a fishing rod. The fishing rod is fitted with a fishing reel, which is attached to a fishing line, which is attached to a fishing rod.

Is there a possibility that you are using a spinning reel type of rod with a baitcast reel? Or worse, a baitcast rod with a spinning reel? Knowing the characteristics of these specific types of rods will prevent such mistakes from happening.

Went out in the rain and was worried we were going to waste our money. But by 8:00AM we had our limit of Striper plus the biggest Crappie I’ve ever caught. My 90 year old Father was with me and Capt. Steve made sure he was safe and comfortable. My Father ended up catching the big fish of the day. Thanks for the memories Capt. Steve! Will definitely book another trip in the future.

I'm 73 and have done my share of fishing but this was the BEST outing I've ever been on, guided or otherwise. My daughter, her husband, 8 year old son and I were on the water at 6AM and didn't have to wait long for action, hitting BIG hybrids and striped bass one after another. In two hours our cooler was full but Capt Steve knows Hartwell like the back of his hand and continued to take us to spot after spot where we caught & released. Captain Steve's love of the sport shines through in everything he does as evidenced by his super clean (and fast) boat, full suite of state of the art electronics, excellent fishing equipment and willingness to share his knowledge of fishing and the lake. He was both professional and personable, and an excellent guide and host who made our party feel like we were old friends. Thanks, Steve, can't wait to do it again!

Steve, All though it was a few years between fishing trips, the one a few days ago was as great as the one years ago. I appreciate you splitting our group and putting us old folks with a nice Captain. The young ones lucked out and got to spend the trip with you as their Captain. They had a fantastic time and were talking about the trip days later. We are looking forward to our next trip with you. Stay safe and we will see you next time we head down here on vacation. Many thanks.

Steve is a genuinely nice person who is very skilled at what he does. Excellent tackle and equipment. I had a most successful and memorable morning with him on Lake Hartwell and recommend him highly. If you want to fish in this area I doubt that you will find a better person to fish with. Kid friendly as a plus.
