Capt. Steve Focuses most of his time guiding his clients for trout on Lake Jocassee. There are three types of trout in the Lake. The Brown trout, Rainbow trout, and Brook trout. Most common are the Browns and Rainbows. The SCDNR annually stock the Brown trout and Rainbow trout. The lake has many rivers that cascade down to the lake as waterfalls making it next to impossible for the trout to naturally swim up the rivers to spawn. This year there were 15,000 Brown trout Stocked into Lake Jocassee and 20,000 rainbows. The Legal size limit for trout on lake Jocassee is 15 inches with a limit of 3 trout per angler. Lake Jocassee holds both the Brown trout and Rainbow trout state Records. The SC brown trout state record records over 17 pounds and the Rainbow is over 11 pounds. Now Fishing on Lake Jocassee may reward you with more than a catch of trout. Largemouth bass, Red Eye Bass, Small mouth Bass along with Bream and Catfish all live in Lake Jocassee. Now if fishing isn't your game then come take a look at all the waterfalls that fall into the lake. Fall is a great time of year to come see the leaves with all the colors/with the waterfalls. Feel free to ask Capt. Steve about his waterfall tours! Some of the best around.
