Jocassee fishing report

Jocassee is fishing fair to good.  Fish are starting to go deeper with most of my fish coming on live bait at 55 ft.  The last week or so has been a little Slow on the average.  It is hard to say what to expect of what the Summer will do to the fishing.  I can say that last year it got tough in July but in 2009 about the end of July I started to hammer the trout deep and with good numbers.  I would say that the whole month of Aug was some of the best fishing in 2009.  Keep in touch with me.. Call me for the latest fishing reports.  I have to say that this June I have caught one of the Largest trout I have seen or even heard of being caught on Lake Jocassee this year.  It was a Brown trout that tipped my cheep Scale at over 7 lbs.  My guess was that it was actually bigger but I have to say what the scale said... 7 lbs!  Regardless, It was a monster!

Lake Hartwell Water Temp:  83-84
June 24, 2011

June has been a great month! Fishing has been great!  Lots of action. I have had a lot of days with numbers in the mid 20's. I'm finding most of my fish in the mid 30's to mid 40's, and catching them on Down rods.  Seems that the Upper 1/3 down to the damn have been the best fishing with the majority of my catch being Hybrids in the 3-5 lb range, I'm getting surprised with a few larger Stripers and the occasional Catfish and Bass.  I also have been catching a few fish on Free lines.  Over all perspective is that I love to have the warm weather.  The warmer it is seem to me the better the fishing!

Weather has been over all good.  We have had a threat of Thunder storm here and there in the afternoons, but the mornings have been good.  Mornings have been in the low to mid 70'S and we have been off the water before noon before it gets too warm.
