Jocassee and Hartwell fishing report:

Jocassee 79 Degrees.  Over all fishing has been fair.  The trout are deep.
We are catching most of the trout 70-110 feet down.  Live Shinners and Spoons
are working good trolled on downriggers.  Live bait is working a little better
then artifical.  Troll slow!  Night fishing has slowed for the year.

Hartwell down to 84 Degrees.  Over all fishing has been tough but improved
fishing to be expected.  Last week has been the toughest week I have had all
year to put fish in the boat.  It wasn't a problem finding fish, it was to get
the fish to bite.  Dog Days of summer have crept up on the stripers...   I
forcast the next couple months to improve.  Expect Stripers to start to school
more and more as the water temp falls.  yesterday was Prime example of this...
It turned out to be one of the best days I have seen in two weeks.  It all came
from one school of fish that started Chasing bait on the surface.... Our two
big fish were 22 and 15 pounds, the rest were 4-8 pound average.   I think we
boated near 20...  It was sure a good releif after last weeks fishing to see
biting fish!

Water temp is 86-87  Weather has been stable.  I've been able to locate some good schools of Stripers last week.  Over all it is good fishing.  I didn't do big numbers of Stripers last week, but the ones we did catch are very quality fish.  7-10 pounds was the average striper last week.   Matter of fact between Thurs and Friday alone, I got broke off 8 times.  I might not Brake 8 fish off the Whole month certain times of the year!  The 8 fish that broke off were just grown fish, and they were living near a forest on the water.  Most of the fish I have been finding are in depths of 55-106 feet.  It sounds like a big range and it is.  The fun part is that not every day have the fish been in the same area.  They have been on the move a little bit.....  Here are few photos from last week!  The first one was of today.... It was very good fishing today!  I look for that to continue
